Spring semester almost over

As always, the spring semester went really fast by. We have already said goodbyes for Rawan, an ERASMUS student who worked in collaborative project, in which she did computational drug design with Dr. Maija Lahtela-Kakkonen and then come to our group to synthesize those compounds. Rawan did a really amazing job, and we were very delighted to have you here! At the end, it seems that this project will offer a totally new Ph.D. project for Andy, so at this point, I guess it's time to welcome Andy also into our team!

In addition to Rawan, also ERASMUS sutdents Irene and Sara finished their project early in the spring and next week also Ines and Catarina are leaving! Thank you so much for all of you for your efforts. Especially, Ines and Catarina, I'm sure that Hamed and Andy will miss you and your assistance in the lab a lot in the future! 😂 Thank you also for Tiago, for working with our biomarker project together with Prof. Auriola. It's going to be quit in the labs after next week...

Good news also, that we have become a breeders club also for MedFiles, Ltd., a local CRO company! Two of our Master Students from this semester were hired even before they graduated! So well done, Sofia and Ella, and good luck for your careers!

Finally, a Scientific Meeting in Real Life!

It has been a great pleasure to attend to a real-life scientific conference since then outburst of COVID-19. The multidisciplinary neuro-oncology SNOG-FIBTRA symposium 2022 was held in Helsinki and was a real success! It was refreshing to hear great presentations, meet the scientists from different fields and find common interests that can have collaborative actions in the future to produce better medications for brain tumors in a future. It was also great to have such a superior company with this trip, so thank you Santosh!

Initial Shutdown/Fire Protection Practises

It's always good to know what do do when accident happens, especially in the synthesis labs! Therefore, we regularly have these initial shutdown/fire protection practises. And thank you my lovely group members, for remembering my birthday! 😁 You are the ones who keep me going on!

SNOG-FIBTRA 2022 coming soon

This spring is full of events, and I already feel bad that I cannot participate to all of them. After few years of lock-downs and everything, everyone seems to be thrilled to get out of the virtual meetings and meet each other in real life. The first meeting, Multidisciplinary Neuro-Oncology symposium to which I will attend, will be in few weeks in Helsinki, organized by the Scandinavian Society of Neuro-oncology (SNOG) and Finnish Brain Tumor Research Association (FiBTRA). So I'm really looking forward to learn more about brain tumors! And perhaps to find new collaborators!
